Sweet And Sour Mango Chutney Recipe

Mm...Sweet,Sour and Spicy.Not sure about servings

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings


    • 1 kg firm raw mangoes(peeled,stoned and chopped)
    • 1 kg sugar
    • water
    • 1 tsp black seeds(kalonji)
    • 1/2 tbsp crushed red chillies
    • 1/4 tsp salt (or to taste)
    • 1/4 cup white vinegar

    Directions

    1. Combine mangoes,sugar,salt ,black seeds and little water in a large saucepan.
    2. Bring to a boil over high heat.
    3. Reduce heat,and boil gently,uncovered, for 20 minutes (stirring occasionally) or until fruit is tender.
    4. The chutney is done when it has thickened but is still slightly liquid(it thickens further as it cools).
    5. Add crushed chillies; boil gently for further 5 minutes.
    6. Add vinegar and remove from heat.
    7. Cool the chutney slightly, then store in jars.
