Curry with moong dal dosa

A spicy snack recipe. Try once and it surely salivates you at the thought itself.

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings


    FOR DOSA:
    • 1 cup moong dal (soaked for 2 hrs)
    • 2 green chillies
    • 1 tsp salt
    • oil-for making dosas
    FOR GRAVY:
    • mustard seed, curry leaves, black gram-each 1sp for tadka
    • A fine paste of : 1 onion, 2 gren chillies, 1 tsp garlic pieces,1 tsp ginger pieces
    • 3 onions-finely chopped
    • ½ lemon sized tamarind
    • 1 tsp red chilli powder
    • salt as per taste
    • 1 tbsp oil
    • 1 tbsp sasame seeds(dry roasted & powdered)
    • 1 tsp garam masala powder

    Directions

    1. Grind the ingredients for dosas into smooth and fluffy paste.
    2. Make medium sized dosas of atleast ¼ inch thickness on a tawa.
    3. Add oil all around and roast on medium flame till light golden on both sides.
    4. Remove from fire,cool and cut into 1x1 inch pieces.(approx)
    5. Soak tamarind in 1 cup water and squeeze out the juice and strain
    6. Heat oil in a kadai, give a tadka as given above.
    7. Add the masala paste and fry till oil comes out.
    8. Add chopped onion and fry till golden brown.
    9. Add red chilly powder, salt and tamarind juice.
    10. Now add the dosa (pesarattu) pieces. Cover and cook till the pieces absorb water and become smooth.
    11. Sprinkle sasame seed powder.
    12. Serve hot as a snack or side dish.
