Roasted dal with spices

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings


    • 1 cup Arhar Dal
    • 2 tsp jeera
    • Three red chillis
    • One garlic big size
    • Salt to taste
    • Turmeric 
    • 2 tsp aam chur powder or two dry mango pieces
    • 2 tsp edible oil (Soyabeen)
    • 1/2 tsp Rai
    • Karipatta
    • 1 tsp Dhania

    Directions

    1. Roast Arhar dal without oil till it smells. Wash the roasted dal, add one tsp jeera, two red chillis, one tsp dhania & garlic and boil in the cooker. Stop cooking after one whistle. After getting cooled, make the paste of the cooked dal with spices in it.
    2. Add water to the paste to required level of soup. Add salt to taste and 1/4th tsp turmeric powder and boil.
    3. Afer boiling, add dry mango pieces or aam chur powder to the soup.
    4. Take the oil onto a Kadai and add red chilli, Rai, jeera and kari patta. Fry the ingredient till it get brown color. Add the boiled dal and close the lid of kadai. After 5 minutes serve the KATTU with rice, chapati or phulka.
    5. Enjoy the Kattu with family and friends.
