Capsicum curry

for all those who enjoy the taste of capsicum....a dish i picked up from my mom when i was going into my in-laws house

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings

    • 3-4 med sized capsicum
    • 1 tsp red chilli powder
    • 1 tsp whole dhaniya
    • 1 tbsp grated coconut
    • 1 tbsp channa dal
    • 5-6 cashew nuts
    • 1/2 turmeric pwdr
    • salt to taste
    • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
    • curry leaves


    1. Cut capsicum into diced form.
    2. Dry roast channa dal,grated coconut,dhaniya, cashew and grind to pate adding water.
    3. Heat oil, add curry leaves, ginger garlic paste and fry in oil for a min.
    4. Add cpasicum and toss into the oil adding red chilli pwdr, turmeric and the ground masala and stir well.add salt to taste.
    5. Pour 1/2  cup water and allow to cook on sim till the masala coats well with capsicum till it is tender.

    serve hot with rice or roti...

    Hi dear, indeed a very good recipe.....i am a good cook too and have loved capsicum and tried varieties but this was something very diffferent and now my hubbys fav too...thnks.

    Thanks Sneha ! I am quite a good cook but have always been apprehensive about making any dishes with Capsicum. Today I did so and wow had my hubby licking his hands asking for more and more !!
