Another simple way of making chakali

Serve them with coffee or tea as a evening snack.

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings

    • 4 cups Rice flour
    • 1 cup Roasted split Channa dal powder (Futtanu powder)
    • 3 tsp Cumin seeds (jeera)
    • a pinch of Asafoetida (hing)
    • 3 tsp Sesame seeds
    • 2 tblsp Red chilli powder
    • 1 tblsp melted Butter/ Vegetable Oil
    • Salt to taste
    • Vegetable Oil for frying.


    1. Mix all the ingredients together.
    2. Add Water little by little to form a soft dough.
    3. Take a small amount of dough & knead well for about 5 mins. Keep the remaining dough covered with a damp cloth.
    4. Put the dough in the Chakali maker & squeze it directly over hot Oil or make it on a paper & then fry them on a Medium heat till crispy.

    Note: Adjust Red chilli powder according to your taste.




    I love chakli.Add ginger paste and try it once.It gives nice flavour.
