snakegourd chutney

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings

    • 1 cup of  peeled snake gourd cut into small pieces
    • 1 cup curd
    • 7 - 8 green chillies
    • 2 - 3 red chillies
    • 1 tsp jeera
    • 1 tsp mustard seeds
    • a bunch of curry leaves
    • few coriander leaves
    • 1 teaspoon chana dal
    • salt to taste
    • pinch of turmeric powder
    • Oil required


    1. Wash the snake gourd pieces
    2. now heat 2 tablespoons of  oil in a pan and add the snake gourd pieces and after 2 to 3 mins add the chillies. Allow them to fry for few mins till the color is changed and let it cool.
    3. now take the pieces into a jar and grind them lightly. To this mixture add the curd and the salt.
    4. heat 1 tablespoon of oil and add chana dal, mustard seeds, jeera, red chillies and curry leaves and mix  this thing in the above mixture.
    5. lastly you can garnish with the coriander leaves.
