Bread Upma

A Quick snack in about 20 minutes

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings


    • 1 loaf of Bread 
    • 1 fully chopped Onion
    • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
    • ½ tsp Garam Masala
    • 2-3 Green Chillies (finely chopped)
    • Coriander (Cilantro) leaves
    • 3 tsp Vegetable oil for frying
    • 1 finely chopped Tomato
    • Salt to taste
    • 2 tsp Lime juice

    Directions

    1. Cut the loaf of bread in to small regular size bread slieces. Toast all the slices and cut them in to small pieces therafter
    2. Heat the oil in a non-stick frying pan for 2-3 minutes on a medium flame
    3. Add the finely chopped green chillies and onion and fry until the onions turn brownish
    4. Add the turmeric powder, garam masala and let it cook on low flame for about a minute
    5. Add the bread pieces to this mixture and mix well
    6. Cover the frying pan with a lid and keep for about 2 minutes
    7. Add the chopped tomato and salt. Cook for another 3-4 minutes (this may vary depending on the quality of ingredients). 
    8. Add the lime juice and garnish with Coriander leaves
    9. Serve with mint chutney or tomato sauce
