Sindhi Curry

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings

  • 1 cup Red Gram (split)
  • 1 tbsp Ginger
  • 2 nos. Green Chilies
  • 3 nos. Tomato
  • 3 tbsps. Gram flour
  • 4 tbsps. Vegetable Oil

salt to taste mustard seeds 1 tsp jeera 1 tsp curry patta leaves 4-5 red chilli pd 1/2 tsp haldi pwd 1/2 tsp coriander leaves to garnish tamarind - 2 tbsps (boiled and sieved in water)

Directions

  1. Wash dal three to four times. In a pressure cooker mix together dal, tomatoes roughly chopped, ginger, green chillies, salt and water.
  2. Pressure cook for 1 whistle and then keep it on low flame for 15-20 minutes or till the dal has boiled properly. Sieve this mixture through a siever. keep it aside.
  3. In a separate vessel heat oil fry the mustard seeds and jeera a little, add curry patta and besan, fry on a low flame till the besan gives its aroma and turns a little brown, then add in it the dal mixture.
  4. Boil a little then in the end add tamarind water. give it one boil and garnish with coriander leaves.
