Pista Chicken

Chicken with pistachios

All those who like rich indian food will relish this chicken very much

Ingredients non vegetarian 4 servings

  • 400 gms. Chicken, boneless
  • 1 cup Onion
  • ¼ tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 no. Tomato
  • 1 cup Curd
  • 1 tsp Garlic, paste
  • 1 tsp Ginger, paste
  • 1 tsp All spice powder
  • 1 tsp Lime juice
  • ½ tsp Black Pepper
  • 2 nos. Green Chilies
  • ½ cup Coriander leaves
  • ½ tsp Fennel Seeds
  • ½ tsp Turmeric Powder
  • ½ cup Pistachios
  • 4 nos. Cloves
  • 1 slice Cinnamon, inch
  • Salt to taste


  1. Marinate chicken in curd, garlic, ginger, nimboo, salt, garam masala, green dhania and green chillies.
  2. Put pista in warm water to remove its cover then make paste of it.
  3. Put elachi, cloves and dalchinni in oil. Then put onion,haldi and saunf. Then add pista paste, marinated chicken and white pepper. Cook for 10-14 minutes. Then put one tomato cut into small pieces.
  4. Remove from heat and put it in a dish.

    garnish with a little cream and serve hot.



Excellent! I tried this recipe and it came out really good. The only changes I made were, I increased the quantity of the chicken from 400gms to 800gms, deleted the 1/4 tsp turmeric, added 4nos elachi and also added little bit of water as needed. Other than that I followed the recipe as described. I will definitely try this recipe again. Thank You!


What kind of cream, Nadia? I guess, she meant it for fresh milk cream [malai].
