Bhindi Kurkuri

Recipe by Kavita Chugani of Dubai, AE

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings

    • 1 kg okra (lady fingers/ bhindi)
    • 1 cup chick pea flour
    • 2 tsp red chilies powder
    • 4 tbsp rice powder
    • 2 tsp coriander powder
    • 1 tsp turmeric powder
    • 1 tsp Amchur powder (mango powder)
    • 1 tsp garam masala
    • Salt to taste
    • Oil for fry


    1. Wash and dry okra. Cut in long in four.
    2. Take ½ cup of chick peas flour and mix all the ingredients in bowl well expect rice powder and salt.
    3. Add okra to it and refrigerate for 30 min.
    4. Mix remaining ½ cup chick peas flour with rice powder and salt in the bowl and mix well.
    5. Heat oil in kadai and deep fry it like pakodas until brown and crisp.
    6. Serve hot with ketchup.
