Pottu kadalai Laddu(split besan)

Laddu made with split besan(delia dhal)

Ingredients vegetarian 8 servings

    • 2 cup split besan(delia dhal)-pottu kadalai
    • 1 1/4 cup sugar
    • 1 cup ghee
    • 15 broken cashew nuts
    • 15 tsp raisins
    • 1 tsp cardamom powder


    1. Grind split besan dhal(pottu kadalai),sugar and cardamaom powder to a fine powder.
    2. Heat ghee in a pan and fry raisins and cashew nuts.
    3. Pour ghee over the powdered besan(split) and shape them into lemon-sized balls with one cashewnut and  one raisin in each ball.
    4. Serve them with  coffee or tea.

    yes Rajeshwari, you are right about this's dalia dhal not delia dhal,i'm sorry.(the split besan dhal we use in coconut chutney).



    in tirunelveli and madurai,its important that this maalaadu shd be kept in functions like engagement and marriages even on diwali.
