koozh dosa

instant dosa,no need to add urad dhal

this is a traditional,forgotten variety of fermentation is required for the batter.this is a any time favourite.liked by one and all

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings

    • 2 cups of raw rice
    • 1 cup grated coconut
    • 1 cup cut onion
    • 2 red chillies
    • 2 tbsp grated coconut for chutney
    • salt to taste 
    • 3 tbsp oil


    1. Soak rice in water for 2hrs
    2. Grind it to a smooth batter
    3. Boil 3 cups of water in thick bottomed vessel
    4. Add 1/2 cup of batter to the water,keep stirring so that no lump is formed
    5. When the colour of the batter changes from white to transparent, opaque , remove from fire
    6. After cooling,add to the batter
    7. Add coconut,and salt 
    8. you can make dosa,using dosa pan. add little bit of oil 
    9. eat with onion chutney
    10. to make onoin chutney-fry red chillies and onion till onions are tender.add coconut and req salt. grind adding 3 tbsp of water.
