Kesar-Pista kulfi

Made with milk pwd to reduce cooking time

Can be prepared in advance for ur family and friends

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings

    • 500 ml full cream milk
    • 1 tbsp cornflour
    • 6 tbsp milk pwd
    • 6 tbsp sugar
    • a pinch of saffron dissolved in 1 t. sp. milk
    • 2 drops vanilla essence
    • 1/4 tsp. green cardamom pwd
    • 2 tbsp. finely chopped pistachio


    1. In a small bowl mix cornflour and milk pwd.
    2. Add cold milk slowly to prepare smooth paste without lumps.
    3. In a pan take milk. When it starts boiling add sugar.
    4. After abt 1 min add paste and keep stirring so that it won t stick to the pan
    5. Once thicken add saffron and remove from the gas.
    6. In big bowl take ice cold water. Keep the pan in it and stir continuously to cool milk.
    7. Add vanilla essence and keep it in fridge without lid for 3 hrs.
    8. Keep empty kulfi molds in freezer.
    9. After 3 hrs Add cardamom pwd and pistachio.
    10. Fill the molds and put in the freezer
    11. In about 6-8 hrs it will set.
    12. For best results use aluminum moulds.
