Mutton karahi

Ingredients non vegetarian 4 servings

    • 1/2 kg mutton
    • 1/2 kg tomatoes
    • 2 medium size sliced onion
    • 2 tbsp karahi masala
    • 1/2 tsp coriander powder
    • 1 tsp red chilli flakes
    • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
    • 1/2 tsp garam masala
    • 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
    • salt to taste
    • green coriander for garnishing
    • ghee/oil as req
    • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
    • 4-5 green chillies
    • 3-4 tbsp ginger in julienne cutting


    1. Boil mutton and keep its boil water(stock) aside.
    2. grind half tomatoes with half cup of mutton stock and cook this puree with 1 tbsp ghee and add 2tbsp karahi masala.
    3. When oil separates then keep it aside.
    4. Heat ghee in a kadahi and add sliced onion when it turns into golden color(dont dark it) then add chopped tomatoes and cook it.
    5. When tomatoes will be tender then add turmeric powder ,red chilli flakes and garlic paste cook it for 2-3 minutes.
    6. Add mutton, ginger, coriander powder, cumin powder and cook it.
    7. Now add tomato puree,green chillies, ginger, garam masala and black pepper.
    8. Add 1/2 cup of water and lid it for 1o minutes with low flame.
    9. garnish coriander leaves
    10. serve it with naan or kulcha.




    Hi, u can easily buy karahi masala by any grocery store. There aremany karahi masalaswith variouse com. in pakistan we mostly use "shaan ka karahi masala". thx
