Spicy Green Rice

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings

  • 4 cups Rice (basmati)
  • 1 cup Spinach, leaves
  • 1 cup Mint, leaves
  • 1 cup Coriander leaves
  • 6 nos. Cloves
  • 6 nos. Cinnamon, sticks
  • 3 nos. Cardamom
  • 2 nos. Onion, chopped
  • 10 nos. Green Chilies
  • Salt to taste

ginger & garlic paste - 2 tbsp jabitri - 1 water - 6 cups

Directions

  1. Blanch all the green leafy vegetables and grind them into a paste together.
  2. Add oil to the pan,add cloves,cardomom,cinnamon,jabitri and saute them.
  3. Later add ginger and garlic paste and saute for few seconds.
  4. Later add the chopped onions and slitted geen chillies and saute them till the onions become transparent.
  5. Then add the green leafy paste to the the pan,mix well,allow it to cook for few minutes until the boils appear.
  6. Later add the rice and mix well.Then add water,salt and mix well and cover the pan with a lid.
  7. Allow it to cook ,after the rice is cooked,garnish it with coriander.

hey rajeshwari the dish was tasty the only thing i added into it was green peas n chicken cubes to give it a good flavour as it was a green rice i made green raita n potato wedges which gave a good look n taste.my hubby who doont eat leafy veg liked itmost thanx to u .

This is an outstanding recipe for us who love rice very much,,, and my husband ate it very well, who always hate green laeafy vegetables.... Thank u very much rajeswari, for such a nice recipe, and making my husband eat greenleaves..... superb.

Hey Rajeshwari, I was going through this recipe when I noticed that the quantity of "Mint" for this has been mentioned as "1 cup." I think it's a very large quantity. If it has been typed negligently, please make sure the needed correction is made.
