Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings

    • 1 full cup Tuvar dal
    • 1 or 2 tomatoes medium size
    • 1 small onion
    • 1 tsp mustard
    • 1 tsp jheera
    • 1 tsp chillie powder
    • 1 tsp haldi
    • few curry leaves
    • 1 tsp sugar
    • 1 tsp oil
    • some ghee
    • pinch of hing
    • salt to taste


    1. Wash and soak tuvar dal directly in cooker for about 10 to 15 minutes.
    2. Grin tomatoes
    3. Add the ground tomatoes in the dal.
    4. Cut onion and add in the above
      Add pinch of hing, salt according to taste, 1tsp oil, and 1tsp sugar, chillie powder, haldi and water accordingly
    5. Pressure cook the above dal with all these ingredients.
    6. After dal gets cooked properly.
    7. Take a separate utensil add ghee, jheera, mustard, curry leaves then add the above dal into it.
    8. Let it boil for some time then add coriander and serve./grated coconut also can be added.
