Karhai Pineapple chicken

Sweet & sour

Ingredients non vegetarian 6 servings



    • 1 whole chicken cut into 8 portions (leaving the bones)
    • 1/2 c oil
    • 6 cardamom.
    • 1 small stick cinnamon 
    • 1 medium onion (blended smooth)+ 2 tbsp sugar + 1 tsp salt
    • 1 tsp fresh garlic & ginger paste
    • 2 tsp red chilli powder
    • 1 tsp turmeric
    • 1 can pineapple (250g) blended smooth

    Directions

    1. Heat the oil & throw in the cardamom & cinnamon stick.
    2. pour in the onion, then ginger & garlic paste & fry for 2 min
    3. Add in the chilli & turmeric powder & fry for another 3 min.
    4. Add the chicken, toss & stir fry for 5 min.
    5. lower the heat & cook covered until the chicken is half way done (10 min).
    6. pour the blended pineapple & toss to coat the chicken with pineapple ( 10 min or until the chicken is tender).
    7.  Keep tossing & frying until the pineapple brings out a fragrance & oil starts to float on top of the gravy.
    8. serve hot with steamed rice.
