Phodnichi Poli (Leftover Chapathi)

u can add potatoes.

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings

    • 5 leftover chapathi
    • 1 onion finely chopped
    • 1 tomato chopped
    • 10 cauliflower florets  chopped to small sizes
    • 1 carrot grated
    • 1 tbsp sweet corn
    • 2 curry leaves
    • 4 garlic pods
    • 1 tsp coconut
    • 2 sprigs of cilantro (chopped)
    • 5 cashew nuts
    • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
    • 1 tsp Red chilli powder
    • 1/2 tsp asefotida
    • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
    • Salt
    • 1 tbsp oil
    • 1 lemon


    1. Grind in mixer till it becomes small pieces like thin poha or please chop into small pieces.
    2. Heat oil in a kadai.Add mustard seeds.When they crackle, add hing, curry leaves and then garlic,onion and cashew nuts.Saute till they are transparent.
    3. Then add tomatoes,fry for 2 minutes.
    4. Add grated carrots,cauliflower,Sweet corn, haldi, red chilli powder. Close the lid and cook for about 5 minutes. No need to add water.
    5. Add salt.Switch off the gas.
    6. squeeze the lemon and mix well.Garnish with scraped coconut and cilantro.
    7. It tastes well and soft to eat.




    Add grounded chapathi flakes in step 4 along before adding carrots.Thanks Rashmi.

    Dear rajeswari, u must hav forgotten to mention when to add ground chapati.. please mention it... thanx..



    a tsp of MTR bisibela bath masala can be added for more taste.
