kheema kofta biryani

for a difference!!

instead of always making koftas in curry i thought i will just use them in Biryani after microwaving them for 8 minutes....i hope some of you will like this try and post your comments...

Ingredients non vegetarian 4 servings


    • 200 g kheema
    • 2 cups basmati rice
    • 1 onion sliced
    • 2 tomatoes sliced
    • 5 green chillies
    • 1/2 bunch mint leaves
    • 5 cloves
    • 1 inch cinnamon
    • 1 Cardamom (elaichi)
    • 1/2 bay leaf
    • 1  black cardamom
    • 3 tsps ginger garlic paste
    • 1 tsp red chilli powder
    • 1 tsp turmeric
    • 1/2 tsp chopped green chillies
    • salt to taste
    • 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
    • 1 tsp corn flour (for koftas)

    Directions

    1. take a bowl and mix the kheema with the cornflour, 1/2 tsp turmeric,1 tsp red chilli powder,1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste,salt and chopped green chillies.
    2. make this into small balls and place them in a glass dish and microwave in high for 7-8 minutes
    3. in the meanwhile,heat oil in a pressure pan and fry the cloves,cinnamon,elaichi,green chillies,black elachi,bay leaf,ginger garlic paste and onions one by one.
    4. add tomatoes and the mint leaves.and saute well with turmeric,salt and1 tsp red chilli powder.
    5. fry well till masala is well cooked and tomatoes are pulpy.
    6. now add the meat balls to this and cook for another 5 minutes till it is blended well into this masala.
    7. add rice and 4 cups water and pressure cook till 2 whistles
    8. serve hot with onion raitha.
