Simple yet Tasty. Learnt from my Mother
2 lbs of okra 2 tbsp vegetable oil 1 tsp mustard seed 1 tsp black gram seed 2 green chillies 1 tsp turmeric powder 1 tsp cayenne pepper powder a pinch of asafetida salt to taste
Chop the okra into cubes.
In a pan add the oil and heat the oil.
Sprout the mustard seed and black gram seed till it turns reddish brown.
Add the chopped chillies
Add a pinch of asafetida.
Now add the okra and mix it and add the turmeric, red pepper powder and salt.
Lower the flame and cook covered for sometime. Do not add any water.
Once the okra has softened, uncover and cook until done.
Serve with any Sambaar.
