Tadhka Daal

Very nice and easy recipe.

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings

    • 125 gm moong ki daal
    • 125 gm masoor ki daal
    • 1 medium size chopped tomato
    • 1 medium size sliced onion
    • 1/2 tbsp garlic paste
    • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
    • 1 tsp coriander powder
    • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
    • 1 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
    • salt to taste
    • 2 tbsp green coriander
    • 1 medium size slices onion
    • 4-5 whole red chillies
    • 3-4 garlic cloves(cut into thin round shape)
    • 1 tsp cumin seeds
    • ghee or oil as req


    1. Wash and soak daals for 15 minutes & keep it on boil with medium flame.
    2. Meanwhile blend daals with hand blender.
    3. Now add turmeric powder,red chilli powder,coriander powder,salt,cumin powder,garlic paste,tomatoes and onion.
    4. Once again blend daals with hand blender.
    5. Let it cook on low heat till daals and tomatoes are tender and half quantity of of water is still there.
    6. Heat a oil in a pan and add slices onion and whole red chillies fry till light brown.
    7. Add garlic and zeera when garlic turns into golden colour then pour this baghaar on top of daal and let it cook for 2-3 minutes.
    8. Sprinkle green coriander and serve hot with boil rice and garlic pickle.




    Thx priyanka really my all family mem like this daal very much and once in a week i cook it and take it with kachoomer pickle and papedh.



    Add few curry leaves and 4-5 green chillies in tadhka coz of it taste will be more good.
