I tried this recipe with the ingredients readily available and my guests relished it. Give it a try ,I am sure u are going to enjoy.
Ingredients
non vegetarian 4 servings
20-25 Prawns, medium size
1 and a half cup green garlic leaves
4-5 garlic cloves
4-5 green chillies
1 cup chopped coriender
1 tea spoon amchur powder
1 Lemon juice
1 tea spoon turmeric powder
salt to taste
Banana Leaf for wrapping
Directions
Clean the prawns by removing the shell, head and de-vein it by giving it a dorsal cut.Then marinade them with salt, lemon juice and turmeric powder for at least 10 mins.
Prepare a chutney with the remaining ingredients except the banana leaf.
Now apply this green chutney to the marinated prawns and keep aside for another 10 mins.
Now devein the banana leaf and keep the chutney marinated prawns in it and wrap it well from all sides so as to make a potli . You may have to use thread for wrapping .
Now the potli is steamed in a covered steaming bowl for about 10 mins . You can also keep it in a preheated OTG or in a microwave for 5mins /2mins respectively.
Ensure that it is served hot as a snacks item as the steaming hot dish needs no garnishing. However if needed one can garnish it with grated coconut.(optional)
