Rabz esp cake

Tis dessert is always welcomed by guests and u can prepare it a head of time if u have other preparations to do.

Ingredients vegetarian 6 servings

    • 4 tbsp butter
    • 3 tbsp flour
    • 4 tbsp coco powder
    • 1 1/2 c milk
    • 1 c sugar
    • 450 gm (hand broken) Marie biscuits (approx 1 1/2 pack)
    • 1/4 c half crushed walnuts
    For icing
    • 2 c whipped cream
    • 1 can cream or 1/2 c fresh cream
    • 2 tsp coffee
    • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
    For decorating:
    • 1 c roasted slivered almonds 


    1. Melt the butter and add the flour whisking so no lumps form.
    2. Add the coco powder and whisk
    3. Add the milk & sugar & keep whisking until a thick sauce is formed.
    4. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
    5. Add in the broken biscuits and nuts and mix to coat the biscuits with the chocolate .
    6. Oil a rectangular bread baking dish, put in the mix and spread it evenly.
    7. Put it in the freezer for 6-8 hours so it firms up.
    8. When you want to serve it, in a bowl add the whipped cream, cream ,coco and coffee powder.
    9. Mix to a nice chocolate icing .
    10. Turn ur cake up side down on a wire rack.
    11. Spread the icing all over it  evenly making sure the cake is well coated with the icing.
    12. Sprinkle the roasted almond on the sides or top
    13. place ur cake on a rectangular dish
    14. cool for another 1/2 hour.
    15. Cut into slices and serve.

    Hi Rabz, I neither have a bake nor microwave at home, the electricity is so bad with low voltage and powercuts. I miss baking which I did a lot of in my years is Africa. This cake/dessert was a winner and after a lot of thinking I made it for family and friends and it just disappeared in no time. Thank you for such an easy and delicious recipe.
