Sardine Curry

Good for Digestion

Its famous in South India--Kerala

Ingredients non vegetarian 4 servings


    • 500 gm Sardines Cleaned
    • 3 tbsp Coconut oil
    • 1/4 tsp Mustard seeds
    • 60 gm onions sliced
    • 1/2 tsp garlic sliced
    • 1/2 tsp ginger sliced
    • 3 green chillies splits
    • 1 spring curry leaves
    • 1 1/2 cup water
    • 5-6 pieces cocum
    • salt to taste
    Grind to Paste:-
    • 11/2 tbsp Coriander powder
    • 1/2 tsp Red chillie powder
    • 2 pinches haldi powder
    • 2 pincehskali mirch
    • 2 pods garlic
    • 3 pinches Fenugreek seeds(Methi) crushed

    Directions

    1. Heat the oil in a earthen pot; add the mustard seeds.
    2. When they starts splutter; add the onions; garlic; ginger and green chillies; saute for a few minutes.
    3. Then add the Spice paste and sardine; fry on low heat, when browned add curry leaves; water; cocum and salt.
    4. Bring to boil and then simmer till the gravy thickens and the fish is cooked.
    5. Serve hot with steamed Rice.
