Crispy White Toasts

Great quick & easy to make snack.

This is my way of making my nephews eat vegetables.

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings


    • 2 tbsp each of melted butter or ghee, refined flour (maida), milk.
    • 1 tbsp ginger & green chilli paste (optional).
    • salt & pepper according to taste.
    • Vegetables
      1 1/2 cup finely chopped cabbage
      1 cup finely cut french beans, capsicums, onions, grated carrots.
      Fresh green peas & corn boiled sufficiently (optional).
    • Bread Toasts (slightly brown).

    Directions

    1. Prepare white sauce by heating butter in a deep pan. Sprinkle the flour over it taking care that no lumps are formed.
    2. Roast the flour till little brown.
    3. Carefully add in the milk, strring constantly to avoid lumps.
    4. Bring to a quick boil, add ginger & green chilli paste, salt & pepper.
    5. Boil on medium flame for about a min.
    6. Add the vegetable into white sauce and cook for 2 mins. The mixture should now be coated but not runny.
    7. Take a toast & apply the topping generously.
    8. Grill it for 1-2 mins.
    9. Remove from grill & use tomatoe ketchup to decorate it.
    10. Serve hot.
    optional: You can add grated cheese on top while grilling. Some kids just love cheese.
