Bread Halwa

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings

    4 slice Bread 3 tbsp. Purified butter 1 tsp. Green cardamom powder a pinch Saffron 4 tbsp. Milk Sugar to taste 2 tbsp. Dry nuts


    1. Soak saffron in the warm milk.
    2. Dice bread into the small pieces.
    3. Heat butter in a nonstick pan, add bread and fry them till golden brown.
    4. Then add sugar and cardamom powder, mix them and pour as much water as needed to soak the bread completely but not too much. Add saffron.
    5. Cook about 3 to 4 minutes.
    6. Serve hot and garnish with nuts.

    Please could you say what happens to the warm milk with saffron, since there is no mention of it after the milk is heated.
