I heard from my south Indian friend that shrimps cooked with okra tastes good. So I tried & developed this receipe. I like it much & hope you will like it too.
Ingredients
non vegetarian 6 servings
500 gms. Jumbo shrimps (shelled, deveined)
20 Okras (Bhindi, sliced)
2 Onions (sliced)
5 tbsp Oil
1 Green chili (Slit)
1 tbsp Cilantro (Dhania patta, chopped)
Salt to taste.
1/4 tsp Ajwain seeds
2 tbsp Garlic (finely chopped)
Masala
3/4 tsp Red chili powder
1/4 tsp Garam masala powder
1/4 tsp Cumin powder
1/4 tsp Coriander powder
1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
1/4 tsp Black pepper powder
For Marinade
2 tbsp Lemon Juice
1 tsp Salt
Directions
Marinate shrimps for1/2 hour in refrigerator in the marinade.
Heat oil in a pan and add chopped garlic & cut green chilies to it.
Fry half minute.
Add ajwain seeds and fry till they starts to splutter.
Add chopped onions to it & fry till golden in colour.
Add all masala (as in ingredient list) to it & fry on low heat for 1 minutes.
Add sliced okra to it and fry uncovered on low heat, stirring occasionally till it is almost cooked.
Add salt and marinated shrimps to it.
Fry uncovered on low heat, stirring occasionally till shrimps are cooked.
