A sweet dish made from Flour

Simple, quick & easy

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings


     1 cup Water
     1 1/2 cup Maida(Plain white flour)
     1/3 cup Sugar
     1/3 cup Ghee (clarified butter)
     Ghee for deep frying
     a pinch of salt

    Directions

     1. Put together water, sugar, salt & ghee on heat & mix until the sugar dissolves. Do not boil the liquid. Just warm the liquid.
     2. Add Maida and knead into a soft pliable dough.
     3. Divide the dough into 4 parts & roll out into chapatis of 1/3" thick.
     4. Cut into diamond shape with a cookie cutter or a knife.
     5. Loosen the pieces & deep fry the pieces in ghee on medium heat till golden brown.
     6. Drain well & allow to cool.

    A nice snack, and easy to make. It could also be baked to not have deep fried. I make same adding Almond and Pistachio pwd. And 1/4 tsp. of cardamom, cinnamon pwd.
