Red Pumpkin Pachadi

Goes well with any rice preparation like biryani or pulao.

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings

  • ½ lb Pumpkin (Red)
  • 1 no. Onion
  • 5 nos. Green Chilies
  • 1 tbsp Ginger, grated
  • 1 no. Coconut, fresh
  • 1 pinch Mustard seeds (black)
  • 5 leaves Curry Leaf
  • 2 tbsps. Vegetable Oil
  • Salt to taste

Directions

  1. Peel and cut red pumpkin in small cubes and boil till tender and allow it to cool.
  2. Chop green chilly ginger and onions .
  3. Grind coconut to smooth paste.
  4. Beat the curd, put pumpkin and all other ingredients.
  5. Heat oil in frying pan, add mustard seeds and curry leaves and pour over the mixture. Add salt to taste.

by curd i think jharna means the paste of coconut

You have not mentioned curd in the ingredients. But in the recipe you mention add curd. It can be quite confusing.

Hi, The receipe sounds nice, but when do you add the coconut paste, and should it be raw coconut paste.
