Papaya Bhaji

Papaya Curry

This dish goes well with both rice and chappati.

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings

  • 1 no. Papaya, half-ripe
  • 2 nos. Onion, chopped
  • 4 tbsps. Coconut, grated
  • ½ tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp Red Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds (black)
  • ½ tsp Cumin Seeds
  • ½ tsp Black gram (split)
  • 2 nos. Red Chilies
  • Curry Leaf to taste
  • 3 tbsps. Vegetable Oil
  • Salt to taste

Directions

  1. Heat oil, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, urad dal and red chillies. When it splatters add curry leaves and chopped onions. Saute for awhile.
  2. Add chopped pappya and continue frying.
  3. Add turmeric powder, chilli powder and salt.Mix well.
  4. Cover and cook on low heat till done.
  5. Garnish with grated coconut.
