Mung Daal ka Sheera

High calories sheera but nobody can refrain from eating! In a parties we can add this dish as a sweet with main course.

Ingredients vegetarian 6 servings


    • 2 cup mung daal
    • 3 cup sugar
    • 2 cup ghee
    • 1 cup khoya
    • 2 tsp broken cashew
    • 2 tsp raisins
    • 2 tsp broken almonds
    • 2 tsp cardamom powder

    Directions

    1. Soak daal for 4-5 hours & then grind it coarsely, don't grind it finely.
    2. Heat a thick base pan with ghee, add  daal in ghee & fry it on medium heat at least for 20-25 min, while frying the yellowish daal mixture will turns in to light brown colored mixture.
    3. Now slowly add khoya & keep mixing it with daal, once it mixed properly add sugar in it & keep frying it again for 8-10 min.
    4. Remove it from fire & add cardamom, cashews, raisins & almonds & mix them well with sheera.
    5. It gives a delicious taste when it is hot so try to serve it hot.

    One can make use of milk instead Khoya. This can be prepared faster in microwave oven. Please try.
