Hi Nirav Shah!,happy to hear from u that u luved this Yam Fry and thank u so much for ur kind words.I learned it from my Mom(she's been doing this for 40 years atleast-Her in-laws used to ask her specially for this fry whenever they taste sambar or Paruppu Kuzhambu. Hi hfshama!,no need to pre-cook this but u stir-fry the yam pieces in oil with needed salt for 4-5 mins(without adding the spices) till its half-done and then add the spices and curry leaves for better result.

Hi Christy, I been visiting this website from quite a few years and I thoroughly enjoying your recipes like this one made out of Suran. In U.S we get frozen Suran packages from Deep food so it dosen't taste the same as fresh one but i will try it out your ways. we make suran as one of the fasting item and we mix yogurt with that. Thanks for sharing this, have a nice day. From: Nirav Shah

am sorry.. could you tell me what is yam? is it vegeterian r non vegeterian?
When you add Yam pieces ,saute for 2 mins and then add the chilli powder. After adding the chilli powder .etc, shallow fry for 6-7 mins only. This Yam fry requires short time only.
