Fried Gram flour cake curry

When short of vegetables this maks a nice meal. This dish is also known as Gatte Ki Sabzi in some regions

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings


    Gram flour 1 cup Onion (chopped) 1 pcs green chilly 2 curd 1/2 cup cumin seeds 1/2 tsp asafoetida a pinch Ghee /oil 1 tbsp soda bicarb a pinch oil to fry For Gravy: Tomatoes(chopped) 2-3 Ginger-garlic paste 1/2 tsp green chilli 2 salt to taste turmeric powder 1/8 tsp dhania powder 1 tsp red chilli powder 1/4 tsp Garam masala 1/4 tsp Coriander leaves for garnishing

    Directions

    For dough:

    1. Knead the gram flour along with curd and chopped onion and the dry masala, till a little hard. (note: the dough may stick to hand Try to remove with a scrapper)
    2. Divide the dough in equal parts so that they can be rolled in 4-5 rolls
    3. Boil water in a vessel and put the rolls into the water. Let it boil and get cooked completely.
    4. Remove from heat and take out the cooked rolls. Preserve the water. Cut the rolls into 1(inch) pieces and fry them till golden brown.

    Gravy:

    1. Fry onion in a pan till brown.
    2. Add red chilli, followed by the preserved water. Bring it to boil.
    3. Add all dry masalas. Blend the tomatoes and green chilly and add it to the onion mixture.Cook for 10 min till gravy becomes thick
    4. Add the fried rolls and again cook for a while till the rolls become softer
    5. Serve with onoin rings (which are marinated in salt and lime)

    hi i tried out this reciepe and it was just out of the world.actually i had a sudden pour of guests and had not suffiecenyt vegetables in that case this reciepe was my saver thanx for it. Though i made for the first time it was superb and the guests went back with th same reciepe.
