Butter Milk

Great treat in summer.People serve it freely from the day of Sri Ram Navami in the street corners in Tamilnadu till June mid.Yoghurt is beaten in a traditional wooden stick called Mathu & take out butter from that.

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings


    • 1 cup Yoghurt(Curd) or Laban full fat
    • 2 1/2 cups water
    • small piece Ginger(adrak)
    • few Coriander Leaves
    • 1 tsp Asefotida(Hing)
    • 1 Green Chilli
    • 4-5 Curry leaves(Kadipatha)
    • 1/2 tsp Salt

     

    Directions

    1. In a Mixer,Grind Green chilli,Curry Leaves,Coriander leaves & Adrak into fine Paste.
    2. Using Braun Blender or Hand Blender or Whip(Mathu),Blend the Curd into fine smooth paste and then add water.
    3. Again blend once by adding Asefotida & Salt.
    4. Serve Chilled or at room temperature.

    yes neer moor(buttermilk) is a popular drink and easy to do.very neat recipe of that buttermilk preparation
