Green Coriander Chicken Curry

Chicken cooked in coriander leaves masala

Chicken pieces delicately cooked with coriander leaves masala.If you like the taste and flavour of coriander leaves a lot ,try this one at home for a change.U can also do Mint chicken replacing Coriander Leaves.

Ingredients non vegetarian 4 servings

    • 10 or 12 pieces of boneless chicken pieces (cleaned with water and salt)
    • 1 cup coriander leaves paste and a handful of coriander leaves chopped
    • 1/2 cup onion pieces
    • 1 tomato -finely chopped
    • 5 whole red chillies
    • 1 1/2 tsp chilli powder
    • 1/2 tsp ginger-garlic paste
    • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
    • 1 tsp lemon juice
    • 2 tsp refined oil
    • 1 tsp mustard seeds
    • 1 tsp cumin seeds
    • 2 tsp salt
    • 1 tbsp coconut paste(optional)
    • 2 cups  plus 1/2 cup water


    1. Prepare 1 cup coriander paste and chop a handful coriander leaves.
    2. Heat oil in a pressure pan ,fry mustard seeds,red chillies,chopped onions,cumin seeds ,ginger-garlic paste and tomato pieces and saute for 2 imns.
    3. Add chilli powder,turmeric powder,coriander paste and salt .Cook for 5 mins and stir continuously
    4. 3Now add the chicken pieces and 2 cups water and pressure cook upto 3 whistle.keep it aside.
    5. Now open the lid and put coconut paste(optional) , chopped coriander leaves(a handful)and 1/2 cup water and cook for 5 more mins.
    6. Sprinkle lemon juice on top.
    7. Serve it with rice ,chappathi,idli,dosa,and parathas.
    note : if u don't add coconut paste then pressure cook upto 4 whistle and then add a handful of coriander leaves and cook for 3 more mins with 1/2 cup water, before sprinkling lemon juice



    I made it but the colour turned out red as there is chillypowder and red chillies can u enlight me on this, the recipie was very tasty
