Cauliflower Potato Sabzi

Cauliflower Florets cooked with potato pieces in spices

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings


    • 15 cauliflower florets (cut and cleaned with hot water)
    • 1 potato(peeled and cut into pieces)
    • 3 green chillies(slit lengthwise)
    • 1 onion(small sized,chopped finely)
    • 1 tomato(small sized,chopped finely)
    • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste(optional)
    • 1 tsp mustard seeds
    • 1 tsp cumin seeds
    • 1 1/2 tsp chilli powder
    • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
    • 1 1/2 tsp salt
    • 2 tsp refined oil
    • 1 sprig curry leaves
    • few coriander leaves (for garnishing)
    • 1 cup water

    Directions

    1. Heat oil in a pan,fry mustard seeds,cumin seeds,chopped onions,chopped tomato and curry leaves.Saute for 2 mins.
    2. Then add potato pieces and cauliflower florets,chilli powder,turmeric powder,coriander leaves,ginger-garlic paste(optional) and salt. Saute for a min so that the spices mix evenly.
    3. Then add water and green chillies and close the lid and cook for 5-6 mins till done.
    4. Serve this sabzi hot with rice or chapathis.

    This was tasty though i made a few changes. I used mustard oil instead of vegetable oil, added a pinch of hing to the seasoning with jeera. Cooked as directed but did not add water but cooked the vegetables on simmer.
