Pulichakeerai(Ambadi or Pitwa)

tamilians from ceylon make this pulichakeerai,excellent taste as they make it in mud pot

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings


    • 1 bunch pulichakeerai(ambadi)only leaves
    • 10 small onions
    • 2 red chilli break into pieces(flakes)
    • 1/2 hing
    • 1/4 cup water
    • 2tsp gingely oil
    • Salt,to taste

    Directions

     

    1. Wash the leaves & take out the leaves from the stem.Chop them.
    2. Pressure cook sorrel leaves with a pinch of salt & haldi in water for 1 whistle.
    3. It shrinks its quantity.
    4. Heat oil in a mud pot,add mustard,urad dal,small onion,red chillis,Onion shd be light brown.
    5. Add leaves & saute for 2 minutes.
    6. Whip in whip mode once.Add  little salt.Again Churn it with mathu or ravi (wooden Butter churner) in mud pot.
    7. Pulichakeerai is ready.

    Note:Onion to be sauted just pinkish or light brown than golden brown.this adds taste
