Once popular but now forgotton sweet. Easy to try at home. You can try this dish using split-besan dhal sweet filling also(without soaking and cooking)
Ingredients
vegetarian 4 servings
2 cups maida flour
1 tbsp rice flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup water
1 tbsp ghee
3/4 cup refined oil for deep-frying
for sweet filling:
50 gm split gram dhal-soaked for 30 mins and half-cooked for 5 mins.
50 gm crushed Jaggery
1 tbsp sugar
1/2 cup grated coconut-roasted in 2 tsp ghee
4 green cardamoms
Directions
Grind coarsely the ingredients in the filling using a mixer-grinder to a thick paste.Keep it aside.
Mix maida,rice flour,salt,ghee with required water and knead this into a soft dough.
Shape them into lemon sized balls and spread them into small puris.
Place 2 spoonful sweet filling inside the spread puris and fold it and seal the sides by pressing the edges and it comes to a semi-circular shape.
Deep fry this in oil till golden brown on both sides.
