wheatflour with onion

i make koki this way,one with refined oil,one ghee & one butter giving 3 different tastes.its not compulsory to use malai.Ideal for picnics,travelling.normally i make 4 kokis out of 2 cups.

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings


    • 2 cups whole wheat flour heaped(i have used mota punjabi atta)
    • 1 tbsp Malai
    • water to knead the dough
    • 2 onions,chopped
    • 3 green chilli,finely chopped
    • 1/2 tsp sabut jeera
    • Salt,to taste
    • Ghee or butter or oil - 2 tbsp

    Directions

    1. Chop the onions and green chillis.
    2. In a bowl,take the whole wheat flour,onion,green chilli and salt.Add malai & little water and knead to a  stiff dough.
    3. Make Lemon size balls of the dough.
    4. Dust the dough ball with the flour and roll them out evenly into a thick disc with the rolling pin.
    5. Heat the tawa and keep on medium flame.
    6. Place the thick disc and drizzle ghee or oil or butter of your choice and brown spots appear.
    7. It will take couple of minutes to cook on all sides.
    8. Turn it over and cook till brown spots appear.Don't take out immediately.it should be cooked well.
    9. Serve immediately or can store for 3-4 days in fridge.

    Note:you can make koki with methi also.it taste so good.i have not put cilantro.so i used jeera.u can put either jeera or cilantro.
