Very fine flavoured sweet and sour fish curry to try at home.
Ingredients
non vegetarian 4 servings
500 gm seer fish fillets-cut into bite-size pieces
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp chilli powder
40 ml butter
1 onion-sliced
1 tsp grated ginger
3 garlic cloves-crushed
1 tsp freshly ground pepper
1 tbsp lemon juice
2 tsp soy sauce
1 tsp sugar
1 tbsp tomato puree
2 tbsp pineapple pulp
1 tsp salt-or needed salt
few coriander leaves
Directions
Rub turmeric powder,salt and chilli powder on fish pieces.
Heat half the butter in a flat pan and fry fish pieces over medium heat for about 2 mins.Remove and set aside.
Heat the remaining butter in the same pan and saute sliced onion,ginger and garlic cloves for 2 mins.
Add the remaining ingredients and simmer for 10 mins.
After 10 mins,add the slightly fried fish pieces and cook for 7-8 more mins stirring occasionally (till the fish gets cooked and done).Serve this fish curry with steamed rice and plain fresh yoghurt.
