Sweet and Sour Fish Curry

Fish curry with sweet and sour Taste

Very fine flavoured sweet and sour fish curry to try at home.

Ingredients non vegetarian 4 servings

    • 500 gm seer fish fillets-cut into bite-size pieces
    • 1 tsp turmeric powder
    • 1 tsp chilli powder
    • 40 ml butter
    • 1 onion-sliced
    • 1 tsp grated ginger
    • 3 garlic cloves-crushed
    • 1 tsp freshly ground pepper
    • 1 tbsp lemon juice
    • 2 tsp soy sauce
    • 1 tsp sugar
    • 1 tbsp tomato puree
    • 2 tbsp pineapple pulp
    • 1 tsp salt-or needed salt
    • few coriander leaves


    1. Rub turmeric powder,salt and chilli powder on fish pieces.
    2. Heat half the butter in a flat pan and fry fish pieces over medium heat for about 2 mins.Remove and set aside.
    3. Heat the remaining butter in the same pan and saute sliced onion,ginger and garlic cloves for 2 mins.
    4. Add the remaining ingredients and simmer for 10 mins.
    5. After 10 mins,add the slightly fried fish pieces and cook for 7-8 more mins stirring occasionally (till the fish gets cooked and done).Serve this fish curry with steamed rice and plain fresh yoghurt.
