Very ,very tasty Halwa in 70 mins time with 60 mins cooking time atleast. Try at home and enjoy this once-famous Halwa.
Ingredients
vegetarian 6 servings
1 cup ghee roasted sago
1 cup thick coconut milk
1 1/2 cup second coconut milk
400 ml full cream milk
2 cups sugar
1 grated beetroot
2 tbsp ghee
ghee roasted cashews and raisins
few drops vanilla essence
Directions
soak the sago pearls in coconut milk for 30 mins.Grind it to a smooth paste in a mixer grinder.
Cook the grated beetroot in full-cream milk .Grind this cooked beetroot to a thick paste.
Heat ghee in a frying pan add the sago-coconut paste,then beetroot paste,sugar and little vanilla essence.Cook for 50 mins atleast till ghee separates from the mixture stirring continuously.
Add the ghee roasted cashews and raisins and mix well.
