Garlic-Milk Kanji (Porridge)

Porridge made with raw rice, Oats,garlic and Milk

This can be done in 20 mins time and best-taken with Coconut-split besan dhal Thick Chutney (Thugaiyal).

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings


    • 750 ml Full cream milk - boiled with 1/2 litre water
    • 1 1/2 cup raw rice - cleaned
    • 1 1/2 cup Oats
    • 20 garlic flakes-peeled and chopped fine
    • 1 tsp cumin seeds(optional)
    • 1 tsp salt or to taste

    Directions

    1. Take a pressure pan,add all the ingredients and pressure cook upto 6 whistles.
    2. It can be taken with Coconut-split besandhal Thick Chutney(Thugaiyal).Grind the following ingredients in mixer-grinder:( 1/2 cup grated coconut,1/4 cup split besan dhal(pori kadalai), 2 green chillies and 1 tsp salt with 2 tbsp water).Serve both together.That's all!.
