Idli Dhokla

Dhokla cubes made with Idli batter

Its very easy and hardly takes 5 mins to prepare the Dhokla batter.Please try this and vote for me.

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings

    •  ½ kg Idli batter- see Idli batter recipe
    • 1 cup low-fat yoghurt
    • ½ tsp Sugar
    • ½ tsp Baking Soda
    • 2 Green Chillies-finely chopped
    • 1 tsp Ginger(grated)
    • a pinch of turmeric powder
    • 1 tbsp Coriander leaves(chopped)
    • 2 tsp Refined Oil
    • 1 tsp oil + 1 tsp ghee -for greasinging the bowl
    • salt - little(cause salt has, already,been added to idli batter )
    for the tadka:
    • ½ tsp Mustard seeds (black)
    • 2 tsp Refined Oil
    • 1 tbsp Coriander leaves(chopped)-for garnishing


    1. In a large bowl,add all the ingredients except the last one and mix well.Keep it aside for 30 mins.
    2. Take a microwave bowl, grease it with oil and ghee.Pour the Dhokla batter into the bowl upto   1¼ inch height. Microwave this on high for 6-7 mins.
    3. If done,remove the bowl and allow it to cool and remove with spatula or put it on a tray upside down.
    4. Cut the dhokla in to cubes.
    5. Clean the microwave bowl and add oil and mustard seeds.Microwave this on high for 2 mins(allow to splutter). Pour this tadka over dhokla cubes.
    6. Sprinkle chopped coriander leaves. Transfer this to a serving dish. Serve this tasty Idly Dhokla pieces hot or cold with chutney of ur choice.
