Dal paratha

this is a dish i found to be very tasty when there is left out dal dats boiled

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings


    items  for the stuffing:

    • 1 cup toor dal
    • ½ tsp roasted jeera powder
    • 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
    • 1/2 tsp chilli powder
    • 1pinch turmeric powder
    • salt as per taste
    • 1/4 tsp amchoor
    • 1/4 tsp dhania powder
    • 1/4 tsp  black salt / rock salt [kala namak]
    • 4 green chillies slit or chopped
    • 1 small bunch coriander
    • 1 tsp mustard seeds
    • 2 tsps oil

    for the dough:

    • 2 cup wheat flour
    • salt as per taste
    • 1 cup water 

    Directions

    1. Make the chapathi dough as per the regular procedure of making rotis keep it aside
    2. cook the toor dal with less water.
    3. after the dal is cooked strain the excess water from the dal & that water can be used to make some other dish like rasam.
    4. now mash the dal & add the roasted jeera powder, 1/2 tsp garam masala powder, 1/2 tsp chilli powder, 1pinch turmeric powder, salt as per taste, 1/4 tsp amchoor, 1/4 tsp dhania powder, kala namak
    5. now in a pan add oil for seasoning add the mustard as it splutters add green chillies , coriander then the dal mixture & mix well & fry for 2/3 minutes until the raw smell of the masalas are gone then let it cool
    6. now make lemon sized balls of the stuffing & stuff it into the chapathi dough & roll it with a rolling pin just like chapathis
    7. on a tava roast them just like chapathis if required add oil or ghee while roasting.
