Nattu kozhi curry

this chicken tastes good with country chicken......a speciality of the southern regions spicy with pepper and chilli.

Ingredients non vegetarian 1 servings

    • 800 gms  chicken
    • 1 onion
    • 2 tsp pepper
    • 1 tsp jeera
    • 1 1/2 tsp fennel seeds
    • 2 tbsp grated coconut
    • 1 1/2 tsp dhaniya seeds
    • 5-6 whole red chillies
    • 2 tsps ginger garlic paste
    • 1 tsp turmeric
    • salt to taste
    • 8-10 curry leaves
    • 3 stems of coriander



    1. heat oil in a kadai.fry onions till brown in some oil and grind to paste
    2. fry red chillies, pepper, jeera, saunf, dhaniya and grated coconut.
    3. add the curry leaves and the coriander to this and grind to paste.
    4. heat oil again and fry ginger garlic paste and add chicken pieces to this adding turmeric and salt.fry well on high for 2-3 minutes.
    5. add the onion paste as well as the masala paste to this and keep stirring well till the chicken is well coated.
    6. add water and salt to taste.cook on medium till chicken is done and tender and till the masala is thick.
