2 tsp urad dal flour(roast urad dal and make fine powder)
2 tsp butter
2 tbsp grated fresh coconut
1/2 tsp hing
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp white sesame seeds (til) or jeera
water to knead the dough
2 cups oil for frying
Directions
Roast urad dal to light brown colour.Allow it to cool for sometime and make fine powder.
Take 11/2 cup of rice soak in water for 15 minutes.Drain the water and dry it in the wet towel.
While it is half dry, grind it to nice fine powder, sieve it and roast it to badami colour.
Sieve it again. Fine dry rice powder is ready.
In 1 tsp of water dissolve salt and hing completely.
Soak sesame seeds in 1 tbsp of water for 10 minutes.Drain the water and in a kadai roast it, till it crackles .If u put jeera instead of til ,this step is not needed,jeera can be directly added.
Preparation:
In a bowl,mix Rice flour,urad dal flour,butter,sesame,salt water,coconut together and knead to make a stiff dough.
Apply coconut oil in palm so that dough doesn't stick and make less than marble sized irregular balls.
Spread it on a cloth for 5-10 minutes.
Heat oil in a kadai and after its heated,try one cheedai,it shd come up.Keep on medium flame.
Fry one plateful of cheedai. There shd not be more gap from one cheedai to another.Otherwise cheedai will consume more oil.Stir once or twice.
Drain and remove from oil when the sound subsides & cheedai becomes golden yellow.Repeat this for other 3 turns.
