Paneer Cutlet

Cutlet made with grated paneer and spices

U can try this cutlet with mashed soya chunks, minced mutton pieces,mashed bread slices,finely chopped and sauted mushrooms and mixed vegetables.Vegetarians replace beaten eggs with corn flour paste.

Ingredients vegetarian 6 servings


    • 1 cup Grated Paneer
    • 1 potato -(boiled,peeled and mashed)
    • 3 green chillies
    • 2 cm size ginger(peeled)
    • 5 garlic cloves (peeled)
    • 1 green cardamom
    • 1 cinnamon stick
    • 1 cloves
    • 1 1/2 tsp salt
    • 1/2 tsp garam masala
    • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
    • 1 tsp fennel seeds
    • 2 big onions - finely chopped
    • 1/2 tsp pepper corns
    • few finely chopped coriander leaves
    • few finely chopped mint leaves
    • 2 eggs-(beaten well with salt - 1/2 tsp)
    • 2 tbsp bread crumbs
    • 5 tbsp refined oil

    Directions

    1. Grind green chillies-3 nos, 1/2 tsp pepper corns,cinnamon stick - 1 no,clove - 1 no, green cardamom - 1 no,ginger piece and garlic into a paste.
    2. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a kadai and saute chopped onions till the onion is golden brown.
    3. Add coriander and mint leaves,fennel seeds and green chillies-ginger paste.saute till oil separates from the mixture.
    4. Add boiled and mashed potato next and then turmeric powder and salt . mix well.
    5. Add grated paneer and saute till the mixture becomes thick and evenly spread like dough.Remove from fire. Let it cool for 20 mins.
    6. Form into  desired shape pieces using moulds.
    7. Dip the shaped pieces in beaten egg(or corn flour paste)  and then roll them in breadcrumbs.
    8. Heat the remaining 4 tbsp. of oil in a frying pan and shallow fry until golden brown on both sides.
    9. Serve hot with tomato ketchup, onions rings and garnish with coriander leaves.

    what r fennel seeds & wat to do if i dont want to add eggs?i m vegetarian.

    Mr.Padmanabhan,North-Indian viewers are mostly paneer-lovers.I have submitted many south-indian recipes,so wanted to submit this one, moreover ,our family never drinks.Most of my recipes are healthy and i will be submitting the 'Urundai Kuzhambu' next week.Thank u.Happy Cooking!.

    A mouth watering dish. Especially with drinks, but having more cholestrol. why cant you send a receipe of urundai kuzhambu which is made in tamilnadu.

    Hi Deepthi,its my recipe only. The Paneer Cutlet recipe tells u our family recipe for cutlet. U can try Egg Cutlet with boiled egg pieces(chopped fine) and reduce the mashed boied-potato to 1/2 cup and thereby reducing the other spices too.
