Besan Burfi

Besan(kadala mavu).I used milk powder.if u don't get mawa,please take 2 tbsp water to 200 gms of milk powder and mix them in a pan and heat the pan and stir till it turns like ball and doesn't stick to the pan.mawa is ready

Ingredients vegetarian 20 servings

    • 2 Cups besan (mota) bengal gram flour
    • 31/2 cup sugar
    • 1 cup milk powder
    • 2 tbsp chopped badam, pista, cashew nuts
    • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
    • 1/2 cup water


    1. Chop Badam, pista, cashewnuts.
    2. Roast bengal gram flour in 1/2 cup ghee till golden brown colour and nice aroma comes out.
    3. Switch off the gas and add milk powder.
    4. Mix well so that milk powder and roasted besan are blended well.
    5. Heat the kadai and add water,sugar and when it starts reaching 2 thread consistency add roasted besan mixture,ghee,cardamom powder.
    6. Remove the kadai from the stove.Stir continuously
    7. It thickens to burfi consistency.
    8. Pour this mixture in a greased plate.
    9. On top,garnish with chopped nuts.
    10. Cut into desired shape.



    u prepared like my mom 2 string consistency.i like ur recipes as u give varieties.



    1 cup ghee shd be added in the ingredients section. and 1/2 cup is used while roasting and 1/2 cup ghee to the sugar syrup string consistency (in step no.5)



    by mistake i typed pista and i requested admin team to delete and again submitted without adding pista.So it came twice.human error.



    Hi Rajeshwari, I think your recipe got posted twice or is it diff then the other Mohanthal you posted eariler?
