A very populer dessert of weddings.

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings

    • 1 cup colourful vermicelli
    • 2 1/2 tbsp vanilla custard powder
    • 1 cup fresh cream
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 2 packets jellies (red and yellow)
    • 1/2 kg milk
    • 2 sapodillas(cheeku)
    • 4 slices pineapple
    • 6 strawberries
    • 2 bananas
    • 12 gm china grass


    1. Put china grass in a pan with water and bring it to a boil.
    2. Empty one of the jelly packets in this. Cook for 2 minutes while stirring continuously. In another pan repeat this process with the other jelly, then refrigerate both of them.
    3. Heat water in a separate pot and add vermicelli to it. When it becomes tender take it out.
    4. Cut sapodillas, bananas, pineapples, strawberries and jellies into pieces. Put them in a separate bowl.
    5. Take a little milk in a bowl and dissolve custard powder in it.Heat remaining milk in a pot and add sugar to it. Add custard when the sugar gets dissolved, and stir continuously. Keep a big bowl over a bowl of ice. Pour hot custard in the big bowl and stir continually for 10 minutes; don't let the custard set. Add fresh cream to the custard and mix well.
    6. Pour custard in the bowl with fruits, add vermicelli as well.
    7. Place lab-e-sheerin in a serving dish, garnish with jellies and serve chilled.
