Beetroot cutlet

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings

    • 1 medium sized beetroot
    • 4 medium sized potatoes ( boiled and mashed)
    • 1/4 cup green peas boiled
    • 1/2 cup bread crumbs or rava
    • 3 green chillies chopped
    • 5-6 garlic pods chopped
    • 1 tbsp udad dal
    • 1 red chilly
    • 1 sprig curry leaves
    • oil as per requirement for tadka and shallow fry
    • salt as per taste


    1. Boil beetroot and when cooled , strain the water completely and blend it in a blender
    2. In a  wok , when hot pour oil and put chopped garlic when it becomes soft , put udad oil, then put green chilly , red chilly and curry leaves , when done put the beet , peas and mix well  for a minute.
    3. Then put the boiled and mashed potatoes and salt and mix well for 4 to 5 minutes.
    4. take it off the gas and allow it to cool.
    5. Then take out a small amount of mixture and give ur desired shape  4 the cutlet .
    6. Roll it in bread crumbs and shallow fry the cutlets.
    7. Serve it with tomato sauce and mint chutney.

    Hi Rithika!,beetroot is a healthy ingredient that u need to include in ur diet esp if u r anaemic.In cutlet too,u r not cooking it too much.So,its good.
